Research shows that children of parents involved in their school make better grades and have fewer disciplinary problems at school. When parents get plugged in at school, their children do better.
2. It's important to the school!
Schools are more and more dependent on the PTO for critical fundraising income. The PTO provides support to teachers and administrators, and helps create a supportive environment in the school.
3. You'll get connected!
A great way to know what's going on in the school is to be a part of the PTO. You'll be among the first to hear about important decisions and changes the school is thinking about, and you'll forge productive relationships with teachers and administrators.
4. You join a network!
Every PTO event and function is an opportunity to meet other parents in similar situations as you. You will be connected with a group of parents who share a common goal of improving the school for the students.
5. You'll make a difference!
Volunteering with the PTO gives you the opportunity to use your skills for a worthy cause and enrich lives. The WBMS PTO works to maintain a supportive and encouraging community for the entire school. Our goal is to create an enriching and educational environment for all of our student, faculty, and parent communities.

You will connect with other parents who want to create a better environment for their children. You will help to plan and support fun events, socials, and activities the whole family can attend and enjoy.
7. Be a role model!
You'll show your children not only are they important to you, but their education is as well. They'll see you taking an active part in making education better for them and their peers, and chances are, they'll do the same.
8. You'll help raise much needed funds!
The PTO fundraises to provides additional educational services for the school. Fundraisers remain critical to improving the quality of the school, and the PTO helps make them possible.
9. It's flexible!
The PTO continually adapts to meet the changing needs of its parent members. There are many ways parents can help and be involved. Responsibilites of each committee can be adjusted to fit with your schedule and your needs.
10. It's for EVERY parent!
Your voice and your opinion matters! It makes a difference when you speak up. Your ideas can contribute to the improvement of the school and can impact the quality of education for your children and every WBMS student.
